Dam protection harshly criticized in new government report

With security often "brittle and lacking in depth," a terrorist attack on a major U.S. dam could bring devastation worse than that wreaked by Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, a new government report says. The report, released today, also paints a picture of chaos and confusion in the aftermath of a dam failure, with no one quite sure which local, state or federal agency would be in charge of the response.
