FDA rules BPA is safe

Federal regulators said today that a controversial chemical used in baby bottles, canned food and other items is not dangerous, despite ongoing safety concerns from parents, consumer groups and politicians. Food and Drug Administration scientists said in a draft report that the small amounts of bisphenol A, or BPA, that leach out of food containers do not threaten children or adults. The report is the latest in a string of assessments of the chemical, which has been used to package food for decades. Go to story #1
